2 Weeks

Sadie is 2 weeks old today!   And in celebration of her 2 wk birthday, I thought I'd post a little update.  She went to the doctor yesterday for her checkup and she's doing great!  She weighed in at 9lbs 15.5 ozs and is still 22 inches long. 

She's very healthy and we're just praying that she stays that way.  I will admit I'm a little paranoid... ok,  a LOT paranoid when it comes to germs.  I've had one baby (Alex) to be hospitalized at 8 days for the flu and again at 18 months for croup and pneumonia.  I do NOT want to go there again.  So yes, we're staying close to home and we should invest in Lysol and GermX as much as we're using it!! 

Unfortunately, Savannah and Alex have both been sick. :(  I got a call from Savannah's teacher the day after Sadie was born when we were still in the hospital.  Savannah was running a fever and complaining of a sore throat.  My aunt took her to the doctor for us and she had strep!  She couldn't even come to the hospital to see her baby sister until she was 3 days old!  Then Alex got a fever and sore throat while at his Daddy's house this weekend (and ON his birthday! :(  )  My Momma took him to the doctor on Monday and he has the flu!  He and Savannah both can't be around Sadie until the end of the week.  I surely do miss them!  And I'm not sure if they miss me, but I know they miss their baby sister! :)   Please pray that everyone gets well and stays well!

Our Baby Girl

I apologize for the delay in getting these pictures up!  I can't believe that Sadie is already 9 days old!  I know that I'll be posting her 1 year session before I know it!  Hopefully, I'll be better about getting those in a timely manner.  ha!  But I do have my reasons... I have a new respect for c-section mommas.  Sadie is #3 and my first C-section.  Recovery is very different and I'm still working on that...  {smile}

Sadie was born on February 6th at 5:16 pm.   She weighed in at 9 lbs 5 ozs and was 22 inches long! And she is her Daddy's clone... just precious!! Savannah and Alex are so in love with their baby sister! We have to time them holding her so that they get equal amounts of time! ha ha! We're all so excited that she's here! 

After surgery, I didn't feel at all like taking any photos of our sweet baby girl.  I'm so thankful to Shane who could hardly put the camera down!  He did a great job!!!  These are some of Sadie's first pictures...  compliments of her Daddy!

 

And at 9 days old, we had a very mini-session!

SHE IS HERE

She has finally arrived.  After 11 hours and 16 minutes, Shane and Kim have a beautiful baby girl.  Sadie Claire Kelley was born on February 6, 2008.  She weighed 9 pounds and 5 ounces.  She was 22 inches long.  She was also born with a head full of wavy hair (cannot imagine where this came from?)  Congratulations to Kim, Shane, Savannah, and Alex.

Yep, that's tomorrow.  It sounds like a fabulous birthdate to me!  What a difference a day makes.  Our countdown was at 9 days this morning when I woke up.  And after our doctor's appointment at 8:30 a.m., it's now only ONE day!  I can hardly believe it. 

Sadie will be here tomorrow. 

We'll arrive at the hospital at 6 a.m. to begin induction.  Please pray that all is well with our baby girl.  And of course, pictures will follow...

More of Seth, as promised earlier!  He was my last session before my maternity leave.  And what a precious baby boy he is!!!  Though I suppose he's almost a toddler now since he's turned 1!  He has the brightest, sweetest smile!!

A Sadie Update

Well, really there's not a lot to update.  I'm seeing my doctor weekly (uneventful visits, which I suppose is a good thing!)  Our due date hasn't changed... February 14th!  {heart}  :)

Once tonight is over, we have 12 days left.  That's still really hard for me to believe.  How can 12 days seem like forever and "just around the corner" all at once?!  Yes, we're all getting very anxious.  I had such big plans for January... get more organized at home and at work, re-do website, etc, etc...   And it hasn't happened.  lol  I did more sessions in January than I had originally planned... but I just couldn't help myself.  I'm not taking any new clients now because I never really know when I might be in the hospital.  But I'm seriously missing my camera.  I tried to get some shots of Savannah the other night and I won't even show you how she acted!  {though maybe I should... I bet she'd do better next time! LOL}  I'm tempted to start "borrowing" kids from the street... would that creep out the parents?  I guess not if they knew me.  ha ha...
